2024 was a massive year of growth for my business and I’m so grateful for the many humans who invested in expanding their capacity through working with me over the past year.
Growth is a good problem to have when you’ve got a new business AND it can also lead to burnout if you’re not paying attention.
ESPECIALLY when you love what you do.
ESPECIALLY when you have ADHD.
I’ve shared what being “at capacity” looks like before, but I think it’s always good to remind ourselves of the signs that tell us we need to increase our capacity.
- You’re not using your systems
- You feel disorganized or like you don’t have a handle on how your business is running (this includes financial mismanagement)
- You’re inconsistent with your content
- You feel “stuck” or “in a rut”
- You’re dropping the ball a lot or forgetting to do things
- You feel less excited about working
- When you work, you’re not sure where to start for the day
- Things like imposter syndrome, rejection sensitivity, and jealousy begin to creep into your thoughts more often
- You’re working longer hours than usual
- You’re JUST working on your business and ignoring everything else.
It feels important to share how I practice what I preach to business owners I work with, so this is how I’m going to increase my capacity as I head into the new year:
I have some huge goals for my business in 2025.
I’m really excited about them, but if I were to head into the year without a capacity check-in, I would FOR SURE end up on the road to burnout.
How about you?
Let’s make a plan to ensure you head into the new year with a solid plan of action for your biz & life that ensures your capacity is top priority! 👇🏻
1) What areas of my business or life feel stuck or overwhelming? What specific changes or decisions could help me feel more in control or inspired?
Reflect on why certain areas feel stagnant and brainstorm potential adjustments.
2) Am I overcommitting to tasks or forgetting things more often than usual? What might this say about my current capacity, and how can I address it?
Write about moments when you’ve dropped the ball and consider what support, tools, or boundaries could help.
3) What patterns am I noticing in my work habits, like working longer hours or feeling unsure about where to start each day? How do these habits align with my energy levels and goals?
Examine how your work schedule aligns with your priorities and where adjustments might improve focus.
4) When emotions like imposter syndrome, rejection sensitivity, or jealousy creep in, what are they trying to tell me about my current mindset or capacity?
Use this as an opportunity to connect with the root causes of these feelings and explore actionable steps to address them.
5) What specific boundaries or routines could I implement to better separate work from rest, and recharge?
Reflect on ways to structure your day or week to create balance, such as adjusting your work hours or setting aside dedicated downtime.
6) How could aligning my offers, messaging, or content strategy with my current capacity create more ease and impact in my business?
Think about your business or life goals and identify areas where realignment could reduce stress and increase efficiency.
7) What does my ideal schedule look like when it includes non-negotiables like self-care, family time, and personal growth? How can I move closer to this ideal?
Visualize a balanced schedule and consider practical steps to make it a reality.
