Does it feel like content creation in your business has become its own full-time job?
Consistency wins the day but, HOW on earth can we be consistent when we’re stuck?
The last thing any business owner wants to do is create content that’s lacklustre and predictable. We want our content to break the monotony of the scroll and capture the attention of our future clients.
Ultimately, I think the content creator’s dream is to ENJOY creating content that stands out, builds a relationship with our audience, and brings money into our business.

Get out your pen & paper, steep yourself a cup of tea & settle in… I’m sharing my best-kept secrets when it comes to facing down that blinking cursor, feeling confident and clear about the content you should be making, and developing a system for staying consistent WITHOUT forcing yourself to just “get it done and out there.”
Because while done IS better than perfect, feeling GOOD about your content is the GOAT content strategy.
Welcome to The Business of Pleasure™ 6-Step Creative Process for creating anything in your business – including content.
Step One
Get crystal clear about why you want to create content in your business.
You might take time visualizing your desires, exploring what’s in the way & mapping out a strategy to build the capacity you need to have what you want.
A big part of clarity requires that you are honest about the amount of time & energy you have to follow through with your content goals. The first mistake most business owners make is thinking they can create more content than they have the capacity for. This is where the consistency always falls flat. Plan for what you CAN do – and stick to that. Consistency is far, far better than quantity. Even if this means starting with committing to one newsletter a month and a couple of social posts a week.
Step Two
Know what’s holding you back.
Are you holding back on the content you really want to make because you’re afraid of judgment or failing? Do you struggle with perfectionism?
I’ve seen so many business owners hold back on the content they should be making in favour of pedestrian messaging that we’ve all seen a million times before. What makes YOU special and what is holding you back from confidently sharing your brilliance over and over again?
Step Three
Source your power internally.
You might explore establishing internal supports for this through grounding work, nervous system regulation, and exploring what true power means for you.
One of the key aspects of power is that when you are empowered you are YOU and less likely to create content that mimics cliché messaging in your industry/niche. While it may seem like there are content rules to follow – there aren’t. Standing out with content that is uniquely sourced through YOUR wisdom is exactly what people are looking for to break up the dull monotony of endless scrolling.
Step Four
Get trustworthy intuitive guidance.
While this might sound woo – intuition is actually NOT intangible at all. It’s a combination of deep internal listening and an analysis of external information to help you refine your decisions.
You might explore your intuition through meditative practices, visualizations, and deeply LISTENING to your clients when they share things with you. In my coaching program, I share rituals that help guide this process of listening to and trusting the wisdom you already have.
There is way too much noise out there, telling you what you should and shouldn’t be doing with your business. It’s getting increasingly difficult to tune into what you actually want, and what’s right for you and your business and that is a MASSIVELY important part of the creative process you don’t want to miss out on.
Step Five
Feel good about the numbers.
This is marketing shadow work & it’s an essential part of the content creation process. The reality is that you have to get honest about what works & what doesn’t when you create content, and the only way you can do that is by figuring out what numbers matter to you & then checking in on your metrics to be sure your content is doing what you want it to do.
The numbers don’t lie – even when they are hard to look at.
Doing this isn’t about being perfect & getting it right 100% of the time. It’s just about being honest. This is truly liberating if you’re willing to trust the process.
Step Six
Have a strategy that works for you.
This is where having a thought partner can come in really handy. Sometimes it’s hard to see the forest for the trees, and we need help sorting it out. Strategy isn’t about mimicking or doing the EXACT five-step system that worked for someone else. It’s about taking YOU & YOUR business into account and making a plan that is sustainable & enjoyable while also bringing you closer to your business goals.
Strategy is often a long game – there are no quick fixes – and having support with this part of your business is game-changing when it comes to long-term success, reducing burnout & supporting clear and consistent action.

Like anything you do in your business, creating content is so much more than sitting down and creating what you “think” you should be creating because that’s what that one influencer on IG told you to do. Content that you enjoy creating comes from being clear about what you want to say and then getting really excited about sharing it because doing anything else would be a disservice to your future clients & the folks who are looking for what you offer!
